China export standards for United States (UL/FCC)

The United States operates a largely market-driven but multi-agency compliance landscape. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulates radio-frequency devices; the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) administers product safety rules including CPSIA for children's articles; the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) oversees medical devices and cosmetics under MoCRA; and the Department of Energy (DOE) sets energy efficiency standards. Third-party certification to standards developed by bodies such as UL is widely required or expected. Exporters from China must navigate distinct federal and, in some cases, state-level requirements. The comparison pages below detail how Chinese standards map against applicable U.S. requirements product by product.
