China export standards for Japan (PSE/JET)

Japan's electrical safety regime is administered under the Electrical Appliances and Materials Safety Act (DENAN), with the PSE (Product Safety Electrical Appliance and Material) mark mandatory for a broad range of electrical products. Certain product categories require third-party certification by a Registered Certification Body, while others allow self-declaration. For medical devices, the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA) and the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) oversee market authorisation. Conformity to Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS) is often expected. Exporters from China must generally work through a locally registered importer or agent. The comparison pages below detail the key differences from Chinese national standards.
