China export standards for Brazil (INMETRO)

Brazil's national metrology and conformity body, INMETRO (Instituto Nacional de Metrologia, Qualidade e Tecnologia), oversees mandatory product certification across a wide range of categories. Many regulated products require certification through an INMETRO-accredited body before import or sale, and must display the applicable conformity mark. Health surveillance authority ANVISA governs medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and food-contact materials. The Brazilian technical standards body, ABNT, publishes the NBR standards that often align with international IEC or ISO references but may contain Brazil-specific provisions. Exporters from China must engage locally accredited laboratories and Brazilian importers to navigate the mandatory approval processes. The comparison pages below cover the key product categories where Chinese and Brazilian requirements differ.
