China export standards for GaN fast charger / power adapter

Gallium nitride (GaN) fast chargers and power adapters use wide-bandgap semiconductor technology to achieve higher switching frequencies and greater power density than silicon-based equivalents, enabling compact multi-port USB-C chargers and laptop adapters. Exporting GaN chargers from China requires satisfying electrical safety standards (IEC 62368-1 has largely replaced IEC 60950-1 globally), EMC and radio-interference limits, and power supply efficiency regulations (ErP in the EU, DOE Level VI in the US). Rapid-charging protocol certification (USB Power Delivery, proprietary fast-charge specifications) adds another layer. Country-specific plug and socket requirements further differentiate approval paths. The pages below compare the full certification requirements for each market covered.
